Representative projects
Most client work is covered by NDA. What follows describes typical scope, sector and deliverables rather than naming companies, because those names are not mine to publish.
Reference imagery on this page is illustrative of the sectors served and does not depict work delivered by Example CAD.
Weld fixture for a chassis subframe
General arrangement plus fourteen part drawings for a subframe weld fixture: laser-cut profiles, machined locators and toggle-clamp mounts. Locator positions held to ±0.1 mm, with the datum scheme set to match the shop's existing CMM fixture.

Legacy gearbox housing, remodelled from the casting
An obsolete housing with no surviving drawings, measured from the casting and its mating components. Rebuilt as parametric CAD with bore positions established from the shafts, then drawn in full to BS 8888 for remanufacture.
Parametric model · Measured drawing · STEP, IGES
DFM · Electronics enclosures
Sheet-metal enclosure, reworked for production
A folded 1.5 mm mild-steel enclosure taken through a DFM pass: bend reliefs added, hole-to-bend distances corrected, flat patterns regenerated at K-factor 0.44 to suit the fabricator's press brake. Folding dropped from five setups to three.
Revised model · Flat patterns · DXF, PDF

CNC-machined inspection jig set
Drawing pack for a three-piece inspection jig in ground tool steel. Position tolerances to ISO 1101 held at ±0.02 mm on gauge features, with Ra 0.8 surface finish callouts and hardness specified on the face of the drawing.

Process plant · Fluid handling
Skid-mounted pump set, GA and BOM
Full assembly model built from supplier STEP files and site measurements: pipework, baseframe and guarding. General arrangement drawing with an itemised BOM for procurement, and an interference check run before sign-off.

Aluminium extrusion profile adaptation
A 6063-T6 profile modified to carry a new fixing detail. Wall thicknesses kept within ±10% of the parent section to preserve die balance, with revised profile drawings issued to the die maker in DXF.
Profile drawings · Tolerance review · DXF, PDF
